Another piece of the puzzle

I'm sure Someone up there has important plans for me this year, but I woke up this morning hell bent on acquiring my first real estate property. Between the rent, wireless connectivity, and data center services that I pay for now - I believe I can use the same amount of cash to pay for the amortization of a modest condominium unit and build my own pocket data center. I'm not sure if I can pull this off, but the idea of preserving hard-earned cash by paying for an asset instead of giving it away for a service sure makes me feel smart! Duh!

That settles it.

Had a final meeting with my long-time business partners and friends (who are more like brothers) and the separation (?) issue has finally been settled in principle. The next steps would involve segregating revenue and expense accounts. The resolution was done amicably (thank God) and we're all still good friends. I hope this is another sign that I'm headed in the right direction.

Tired

Well, it finally hit me. After 3 continuous 6-day workweeks filled with 8am meetings and high-intensity field work, I woke up tired and weary. It was a very unproductive Friday except for a 2-hour meeting with a newspaper publisher. I think my body just quit on me and decided to take a day off on it's own.

I ended the day with my umpteenth delivery to John and another delivery to the director of a popular tele-serya - one of the perks of moonlighting.

I really have to settle business issues with my partners.

Lucky day

Surprise, surprise! I got a call today from a mall operator and thinking it was one of those follow-up calls on a recent purchase, I grudgingly picked up the phone only to find out that I won a CAR! Yes, a car! Me, moi, who always say that I've never been lucky in 'em raffle things actually won a car. Anyways, I've decided to sell it so that I can add the proceeds to my kitty for the year's plans.

Talking about the new year, it has been a really hectic, no, crazy first 2 weeks. My staff described it aptly when she said it felt like her Christmas vacation was 6 months ago. (Hehe, no I'm no slave driver!) As of last count, I'm juggling 4 current projects, 6 major developing leads, and a hundred other minor subtasks that has to be completed next week. And that's not including my usual load in the office.

If the hectic work schedule and the heaven-sent surprise is any condition, I think this is a fresh window of opportunity to improve my finances.

I'm ready for the ride!

Pop's birthday

Today is Pop's 61st birthday and I'm happy he's on one of his rare vacations. I'm also sad because of a recent realization that I've failed him completely as his first-born for not only failing to accomplish anything for him to be proud of after 12 long years as an entrepreneur but also because I have not helped him achieve his own entrepreneurial dreams and aspirations.

In retrospect, that same 12 years that I've spent trying to build my own 'empire' should have been spent as his obedient and unquestioning assistant to build his empire.

It's not too late. It's not too late.

My first blog

Tang-ina, I'm not even sure why I'm doing this.
